Modern Apprentices with Additional Support Needs (ASNs) require more support than a typical employee.
Not only are they just starting out on their career and therefore have limited workplace skills, they may have additional needs which other employees do not.
They need support in two key areas:
- Their workplace tasks, which vary depending on their apprenticeship.
- Their learning obligations, which also vary.
As a Disabled Student Allowance provider with over 20 years’ experience supporting students with disabilities, we have a huge amount of knowledge and experience supporting learning activities. As an Access to Work provider we have experience of supporting a wide array of employees too.
These two skill sets make it possible for us to fully support both parts of an apprentice’s obligations - their workplace tasks and their learning tasks.
